Norway Secures Purchase of New NASAMS Air Defense Systems
Norway has taken a significant step to bolster its national security by signing a major contract with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace for the procurement of new NASAMS (Norwegian Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System) air defense systems. This strategic move, valued at up to NOK 4.8 billion ($440 million), underscores Norway’s commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities against evolving aerial threats. The NASAMS air defense system has been a cornerstone of Norway’s air defense strategy since its initial deployment in the 1990s.
