
Turkey’s KAAN Fighter Jet to Begin Weapons Testing by 2026
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) is advancing the KAAN fifth-generation fighter jet program with remarkable progress. Initiated in 2016, the project aims to replace Turkey’s aging F-16 fleet and establish a robust indigenous defense manufacturing capability. Prototype Development and Testing The KAAN prototype program has achieved significant milestones. The first prototype (P0) completed its maiden flight on February 21, with a second flight on May 6 demonstrating 14-minute airborne performance at 10,000 feet.
